In Salem, I fell in love with headstones at the Burying Point. Justice John Hathorne, the great-great-grandfather of writer Nathaniel Hawthorne was buried there. John Hathorne was a judge during the witch trials and had an awful reputation. Nathaniel Hawthorne was so ashamed of his role in the trials that he added a "w" in his name to make it different. I took a picture with Nathaniel's great grandmother, Rachel Hathorne. p.s. I love the angel skeleton on this headstone.
